Case Study: Monica

Monica was born in 1995 to a healthy mother, but unfortunately suffered mild brain damage from being born 2 months early. She weighed only 4 pounds at birth, did not walk for nearly 2 years, and was slow to develop speech. In addition, Monica was also diagnosed with a seizure disorder at 5 years of age.

Monica became a patient of the RVF 4 years ago, and we are now able to help Monica's mother afford her expensive daily medications. In addition, her Bolivian healthcare team has helped Monica's mother enroll in vocational courses, to help her sell her crafts and become self-sufficient. Monica's mother takes pride in seeing Monica share her key-chains, earrings, and decorative cloths.
